The Bleu Brick Road: Day 24- Is It Over?

February 5th, 2010

More consomme production today…which unfortunately I missed. Stayed for the first half of class but had to leave in order to make a doctors appointment that just couldn’t be rescheduled. Damn. While I was there however, I did happen to catch a restaurant oriented Monty Python film snippet which Chef deemed relevant…oh, and also completed a couple more tests. This is the end of our Foundations class- it pulls to a close next week while Im away. Upon returning Ill be moving on to the next course, walking in to an entirely different classroom lead by another Chef instructor. This past month has blown by so quickly…is it over? So soon…too soon.

Also…one more thing- I realize that I’ve done a real shitty job maintaining the whole “Wizard of Oz” concept I originally set up. I had every intention of drawing the parallels between school and that infamous story. Really, I did. Kind of dropped the ball on that whole idea pretty early on unfortunately. It was always an afterthought whenever I would write- “Ah hell, I should’ve compared my horrible shoes to Dorothys ruby red slippers!?” or  ”Why didn’t I mention the all too obvious lack of brain in regards to my hollandaise via the Scarecrow?” Idiot. What Im trying to say is that my intentions were good and Im going to do my damnedest to be a little more conscious of working that stuff in in the future. Really, theres no point to the whole “The Bleu Brick Road” theme if Im not referencing the story at all.

Cherie, please learn how to use contractions. I will = I’ll (not “Ill). Do not = don’t (not dont). I am = I’m (not “Im”). It is (its) embarrassing to you and everyone who knows you. Thank you.

    Thanks Pal,
I know how to use contractions. I ditch the apostrophe by choice not ignorance. Entirely correct? Probably not, but Im not an enormous stickler on punctuation.
If it embarrasses you, feel free to stop reading.

    Cheers.

    Cherie,
Wow…You spend SO much of your time providing this awesome blog and pictures for people to read about your experiences and life, in YOUR. OWN. WORDS- clearly, that is the point. So screw the grammar lesson, indeed, that person is hanging out in the wrong section…

Thanks for your (always) fantastic entry, good luck on your upcoming ventures!
